I was asked this one time on my blog, Well one thing I DO NOT do is grab the water colors and paint in my Bible like I have seen others do.
Okay so there are many different ways to mark your Bible. Different people have different systems. Here is my system. Perhaps it will help give you some ideas. Feel free to use my system, or utilize it to help you create your own.
Sometimes I like to mark my Bible, and sometimes I don't. Because of this, I have a Bible that I keep as my marking Bible, and one that I keep that is my non-marking Bible.
On the inside I wrote in the date I got saved and the date I got baptized. I do this in all of my Bibles. On another one of the blank pages in the front of the Bible, I made a Marking Key
My Marking Key
Note:I have a
purple pen for Father,Holy Spirit,Jesus,
green Pen Families, our thoughts and words:New Life,
red pen for Love,in Christ,in Him,and a
blue pen for Mary, passages related to women, marriage, parenting, friendship,
Black pen curse
Verses highlighted in yellow = salvation, Jesus is the only way
For example
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:16
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. -John 14:6
Underlined ones:
Verses underlined in pink = women and wife duties, etc. (For example, Titus 2:4-5)
Verses underlined in green = children, child training, etc. (For example, Proverbs 29:15)
Verses underlined in blue = men and husband duties, etc. (For example, 1 Peter 3:7)
Make any other notes on this Key page,or in a notebook. I always have a Bible Journal,If you would like I can post a photo of mine, and the sections I have to give you an idea..
I also have a sticky pad in my Bible bag so if something pops up, I can jot it down and stick it in the Book of the bible I am in...
