Acts 11:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
Acts 11:8-9 New King James Version (NKJV)
8 But I said, ‘Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’ 9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, ‘What God has cleansed you must not call common.’

8 Peter would have tried his best to stay clean in action and what he ate; it is very likely most Jews never even came in contact with unclean food. Peter had kept his Jewish diet.
9 This is saying that God made nothing common and that by Him we can eat, we are cleansed not by what we do or what we eat but by what He did for us on the cross.
