Numbers 22:33-34 King James Version (KJV)
33 And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.
34 And Balaam said unto the angel of the Lord, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again.
Numbers 22:33-34 New King James Version (NKJV)
33 The donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, surely I would also have killed you by now, and let her live.”
34 And Balaam said to the Angel of the Lord, “I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases You, I will turn back.”

Numbers 22:33-34 International Standard Version (ISV)
33 The donkey saw me and turned in front of me in the space of those three footsteps. 34 If she hadn’t turned away from me, I would have killed you by now and left her alive!”
At this, Balaam replied to the angel of the Lord, “I’ve sinned! I didn’t know that you were standing to meet me on the road. So now, since it displeases you, let me go back.”

33 This is the angel explaining what happened often times we need to be explained what happened or dont quite know even if it happens right before and to us.
34 The angel would have killed him so that God's will wasnt broken, this is not something we want to even close to ourselves so do your best to be in God's will. Balaam admits he was sinful, we can admit we are sinners but salvation comes when we turn from sin to Him, from our ways to His ways.
