GOD HAS A VOICE: DO YOU LISTEN?
(1) A Psalm of David. Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
(2) Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
(3) The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
(4) The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
(5) The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
(6) He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
(7) The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
(8) The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
(9) The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
(10) The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.
(11) The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace. Psalm 29:1-11
There was once a time in the Church the voice of God had precedence over everything. Church wasn’t about feeding the carnality of pop culture; it was about the sincerity of hearing the inspired Word of God expressed through an anointed vessel of God. Worship wasn’t about having a real good feel good ”kumbaya” moment; it was about singing the gospel in song and praising the Lord in heartfelt worship.
The Voice of God is the most significant thing in our lives to adhere too! There are many who put on the airs of churchianity instead of the vesture of Christ. As Christians we must dine on the sincere milk and meat of the Word in order to manifest the milk and honey of its transforming power. The Word of God is the Voice of God! We must ingest it, and then we digest it, so we can manifest it. It must be consumed by the mind so that the spirit is fed; it is substance for the soul and spirit. We must allow the word to break us so it can make us into the image and likeness of Christ manifesting his will in our lives.
The Word is serious in its provocations of transformation. One cannot afford to take the word of God lightly as a grain of sand; but take it seriously to develop a faith that multiplies as the grains of mustard seed. In the above passage of scripture the voice and or word of the Lord is actively doing things supernaturally in the natural realm:
It is powerful;
It is able to break;
It is able to divide;
It is able to shake;
It is able to make;
God takes the word to divide the flesh from the spirit that we grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
(13) Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Hebrews 4:12-13
The voice of God will take away presumption and replaces it with assurance. We are naked spiritually speaking in the sight of God; he knows when we take him for granted and when we take him seriously. Jesus prayed and spoke truth that is transforming; “Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth”. (Joh 17:17)
Brethren we must give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; we must worship Him in the beauty of Holiness for He alone is worthy.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (Joh 4:24)
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
