CHILD-LIKE FAITH
Children embrace things quickly because they’re eager to learn. They’re perceptive of those things which bring them joy when learning. They love the feeling of accomplishment and appreciation. God refers to us as his children; shouldn’t we embrace the humility and willingness of a child to learn all we can about our Heavenly Father?
(1) At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
(2) And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
(3) And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
(4) Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
(5) And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
(6) But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:1-6
When our faith quits exciting us, igniting us, and inspiring us we need to stop and do an examination. For the simplicity of faith should always maintain a child-like essence no matter how mature our spirituality expands. The fact that we are called his children and that we are in a spiritual eternal family should humble us. I am still in awe of God and his love for me; it is truly amazing to know his sweet grace. As a Christian my journey is still a humbling experience which shows me just how little I’ve learned and how much more I want to learn. How about you? Have you lost that first love and the devotion which infatuated you when you first came to God? Have the joy of living in his presence become mundane?
Brethren; the Lord desires our love, devotion, worship, and adoration. Our hearts should be overflowing with the joy of the Lord. We cannot afford to live life in a vacuum without the sustaining joy of the Lord. If we live life based upon what is happening; we will indeed miss the mark and only exist in a continual search for happiness instead of the sustaining power of trusting Jesus and learning from him each day the value of a day in this life concerning the objectives of the Kingdom of God and our personal spiritual growth.
What we allow to consume us spiritually is the essence of what we desire. What we focus on determines the level of our joy, peace, and love. Seek those things which edify and be an edifier of others in the process. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
