NOSTALGIC FAITH
I ponder days gone by and the faith which I did not deny; gripping those things now apply. Brethren, over the years we’ve made memories concerning the new birth and the fashion of faith which we had at the time. We’ve grown past those days which founded and grounded us in the Christ our Lord. We look back with fondness and nostalgically relive some of those wonderful moments in the assembly of the saints we knew; we remember particular services and sermons which moved us closer to our Lord and the body of believers we fellowshipped with.
We remember phenomenal times of miracles that transformed us and touched others. We remember times of accomplishment and how that God used us to his own glory.
O the days of nostalgic faith that has vanished into the winds of time. O how we long for them just to feel the atmosphere that charged us up and sustained us in those times. When in unity we sung the songs of Zion in loving corporate praise. Remembering our favorite hymns and singing them with resilience together in those days. The times were oh so simple and our hearts were so endeared loving the presence of each other worshiping in one spirit the holiness of our Lord.
Our faith was so solid and building every day. Let us embrace the Spirit around us and decline the world and its ways. As I prayed the last two nights I have been getting re-associated with the nostalgia of my faith. I sense the winds of destiny and the breaking forth of a new season. Brethren I encourage you to get in touch with the faith of yesteryears the sustaining mustard seed faith that carried us through trying times, the valleys of decision, the temptations, the touching the hem of his garment times. Be refreshed in his presence by a sustaining relationship with his person.
I would say unto you “do not despise the day of small things”! I would say unto you “look to the eastern skies from whence comes your help”! I would say unto you “expect the great exploits of those who know their God”!
Brethren that nostalgic faith of which I speak is the first love and first works of our faith in our belief in the existence of a forgiving God and the rewarder of those who diligently seek his face. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
