Two Paths one Judgment
The paths of sin lead us to the gates of hell. The little foxes spoil the vines; when we’re looking for wolves in our fold. How many times has a seemingly small compromise ended up in disaster for us spiritually? I’ve heard it said that technically it is the truth when someone defends a dishonesty they practice. It the body of a circumstance is a lie then the technicality is just a thin veneer; a pretension that deceives for the purpose of accomplishing something at the time.
Think of the implications of this biblical statement
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”. (John 8:36)
Pro-Christ or Anti-Christ; One is either under the domain of Christ or the domain of Satan speaking spiritually. There is no neutral zone when it comes to our spirituality. Let me say this! Our mentality can change our reality: change a person’s mind and consequently their world will change.
Jesus is the Emancipator of Mankind! His word is seed for the soul; yet that seed must root and grow. One is never so free when they live through the perfect law of liberty. Subjecting oneself to the word of God doesn’t shackle us in slavery; virtue is only a burden to the dissolute. Obedience becomes a joy and satisfaction is a byproduct of living under his divine domain.
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32
Continuation guarantees emancipation. If I am reliant upon Him and if I walk in truth; I shall be free from anxiety and the shackles of a deceiving world designed to pull me down. Truth sets the captive free and establishes the paths of righteousness. Truth relinquishes the burdens that overwhelm and confirm he is with me; I shall fear no evil and death has truly lost its sting! My Father is a shield, the glory of my life, and the lifter of my head. He affects me positively in every aspect of life; yet not without chastisement when it is needed.
“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head”. Psalm 3:3
Divine order commands first a change of heart; then obedience which brings biblical morality and true piety. When we subject ourselves to divine order of scriptural precepts a transformation begins and the end results in the emancipation from the vices which have gripped our hearts and minds; we are set at liberty.
“Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage”. Galatians 5:1
I am free when my mind is no longer shackled with the fear of death and punishment; liberty to explore without the fear of retribution or reprisal is a liberty worth maintaining. Grace affords me the affection to set out in faith without fear of death; that affection I have and hold in my heart for my Savior and the inspiration which drives me past the limitations of the previous bondage that sin robbed me of are now past; I now walk by faith and not by sight.
It’s been said that freedom isn’t free if it doesn’t cost anything; Jesus paid the price and we can rest assured in him. Where there is freedom there is joy, peace, and real love. Brethren the subject of freedom in Christ runs deep and wide; we often spout the words without realizing the full ramifications! Let us put forth an effect to find all the liberties of our relationship with Christ and the truth which brings them to fruition. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
