LOVE NOT THE WORLD!
(15) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
(16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
(17) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1st John 2:15-17
When we embrace those whom the Word of God calls immoral; is that compromise? We cannot afford to make allies out of those whom we oppose morally. One may agree with us on a consensus of issues but we cannot afford to walk lockstep in solidarity. The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy if they do not hold the Word of God as the final authority. It is said that politics make strange bed fellows; this is why politics are often detrimental to our spiritual walk. I cannot in good and godly conscious embrace a lifestyle that God abhors.
Why then are so many Christians making a hero out of those who are abominable in the sight of God. When someone agrees with me on an issue and lives contrary to the Will and Word of God; they’re still the enemy of the Cross of Christ. Brethren don’t celebrate celebrity just because you may see eye to eye on a couple of moral issues; when those people mock God by their lives each and every day. When the world begins to love us; we’re in trouble spiritually. If someone dislikes or hates you because you stand firm on the foundation of Jesus Christ; that’s a good thing! Selah
