Acts 12:12-13 King James Version (KJV) 12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.
13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

12 So Peter came to the house that they were praying for him to be released from jail at. Peter knew this is where they were at whether it was there custom place of prayer or they told him isnt shown but he went straight there, which shows he knew where to go.
13 It would have been common for a woman to answer the door and unless it was urgent, she would not to interrupt the praying.
