Acts 12:14-16 King James Version (KJV) 14 And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.
Acts 12:14-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. 15 But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.”
16 Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
14 So she was so excited she left Peter at the gate rather then to bring him in. She shared what she saw in her excitement.
15 She didnt think it was Peter but maybe an angel. They were praying that Peter would be released but couldnt see that their prayers had been answered.
16 They now knew there prayers were answered and God had moved.
