FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST
Praise the Lord for the unspeakable riches he bestows upon his children, and the manifold spiritual blessings which await those who endure the trying times of life. We do it all for the love of our Messiah. Who was, who is, and who shall forever be. He is the beginning and the end, He is the Word mad flesh who is eternally God and LORD, and for his sake we forgo the hardships of this human condition called physical and emotional life. The heart of one who sought after the heart of God was inspired to inscribe these blessed words to parchment and give some insight into endurance, because stressful situations shall surely come our way many times before our demise or the catching away of the body of Christ at the last trump of the archangel. Trust ( IN) The LORD!
(3) Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and cherish faithfulness.
(4) So shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and He shall give thee the petitions of thy heart.
(5) Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass.
(6) And He will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, and thy right as the noonday.
(7) Resign thyself unto the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
(8) Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.
(9) For evil-doers shall be cut off; but those that wait for the LORD, they shall inherit the land.
Psalms 37:3-9 JPS
STRESSFUL SITUATIONS
The bible teaches us to have confidence in God’s ability to keep us through every situation and circumstance of life, I must be honest as a minister of the Gospel of Christ. There are many times that I sometimes allow the conflicts of life those things in life which tend to stress us out; get to me. It is that human tendency to be overwhelmed by the unforeseen trials that cause us to allow stress to strain our relationship with Christ and others. It is one thing to be in control through allowing the Holy Spirit to calm us, and quite another to allow our emotions to overtake us.
There are times, that I am a calm as a cold cucumber when faced with a situation which would demand that I get stressed out to the max. Then there are those times I am an emotional nut job reeling from one emotion to the next totally overwhelmed by the dilemma I am facing. It is God’s desire at those points of stress invasions that we should take a deep breath of the fresh wind of God’s word and become dependent upon his calming power.
None of us as much as we would like to think so have arrived at the point of perfected Christ responding spirituality. I have taught on this concept for years, we can re-act or respond to life’s pressing issues, pit falls, and conflicts. Depending upon our pre-emptive and proactive mindset we can either respond in the spirit or re-act in the flesh. Life is designed in such a way that we never know exactly what is coming at us. So most of the time because we do not prepare ourselves through spiritual disciplines we get caught off guard and fail in our attempts to respond properly in the spirit. Thereby re-acting in the flesh and usually making the scenario worse to duplicating the action. In other words when something happens that is unexpected we re-act by becoming carnal in dealing with it, we get angry, because we are in fact fearful, we allow fear to inhabit us then we act out of that fear and becoming despondent fueling the situation even more. It is at these time we usually do and say things we usually regret later, once we calm down enough to allow the Spirit of God to speak to us through his unction or the word.
I know the Holy Spirit is always there to lead and guide us into a responsible way to receive the situation gracefully and with spiritual maturity.
Brethren, keep the faith today by praying for God to allow situations that will hone your ability to mature in patience and endurance to the benefit of the glory of God and the blessing of living a more stress free lifestyle.
