WHAT DO YOU EXPECT
It has often been said that expectation is the breeding ground for the miraculous! This is why I pose the question; what do you expect? So many today are in expectation of worse things in their personal lives, when in faith they should be in expectation of the miraculous. Yes; I am one who spouts the principles of practicality, but there are those attitudes or dispositions of negativity which many are inclined to be preconditioned with, of which we can all fall into the mindset of based upon past circumstance.
(21) This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
(22) It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
(23) They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
(24) The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
(25) The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
(26) It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
Lamentations 3:21-26 KJV
I therefore must remember that God’s mercies were sufficient for days gone by, I survived the bad times as well as enjoyed the good times. Nevertheless those days are behind me and the wisdom gained by living those experiences will follow me for application when similar experiences come, but this very day poses the opportunity for God to do a miraculous new thing that does not concern the old thing that has passed. I must therefore be in expectation of a miraculous work to manifest for this day. I must be in patient expectation waiting upon my God in the knowledge He loves me, in the hope that is the foundation of my faith, and in confidence that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think according to the power he himself has divested in us. The unadulterated faith that is pure before the eyes of the Lord.
His mercies, I said His mercies are new, brand new, and totally new without yesterday’s residue each and every morning, for great and supernatural is his faithfulness. The Lord is good to them that are actively and fervently seeking him with all their heart, mind, body, and strength. To seek is to be in expectation of finding, to seek is the act of searching, to seek is the foresight of desire, the ability to imagine what it is that one wants to find. So! Again I ask! What are you expecting?
What is the need? What is the desire? What is the miracle?
Is your heart predetermined to expect for the best or expect for the worse? Is your heart faithful to the faith or filled with doubtful disputations? Do you believe or do you doubt? Do you ask believing or do you ask doubting? The precondition of the heart is the key to how we expect. This is a simply dynamic; the same faith and confession that got you saved, is the same faith and confession which pre-positions our hearts to be in expectation for God’s miracle working power in our lives.
(8) But what does it say? "The Word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart"; that is, the Word of Faith which we proclaim;
(9) Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
(10) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.
Romans 10:8-10 MKJV
Brethren, keep the faith today by believing God with a trusting heart, put yesterday’s doubt to death, and resurrect today’s faith with expectation of greater things for your personal life. Do Not! I say do not look at what is all around and make any decision or move based upon the world’s circumstances, we are a separate people whom are consecrated to the Lord for his purposes. Seek the face of God with all your heart and you shall find him, and the keys of your personal success are found at the throne of mercy and grace which are new every morning, and the faith will keep you in faithful expectation of greater and more glorious things.
