GOT CONSCIOUSNESS (CHECK UP TIME)
Consciousness appears as the dreams dissipate and the soundness of the mind pondered the new day.
Reason and reality walk in together as the body ascends from the night’s peaceful rest. Stirring to the floor and looking for the comfort of light. The mind racing now flooded with thought; the spirit man hungry for heavenly bread.
Yes I ponder and I wonder about the things above. I scurry about the darkness and reach for the switch of illumination. I open its pages with anticipation; returning to the learning of the word. Now I have a yearning that’s burning deep within to replenish the spirit of the mind. O the tasty morsels of this divine dish now activate spiritual taste buds delighted by its satisfying substance that comes from God above.
I woke to the light upon my desk, a book of many volumes; as I opened the illuminous pages understanding leaped into my spirit. Though the darkness encompasses me; yet around me a light does shine. In those early hours his presence was to be found. Though the body grows old and weary the youth within is so profound, for in his Holy Scripture there’s a new life that does astound. My manna in the morning sustains me through the day; upon those Holy Scriptures I find myself to pray. Lovely is the Lord the Author of my Faith!
Have you ever thought about consciousness and it remarkable attributes? One can be conscious of life and yet be blind to true life. One can walk through life totally blind to the death their sins will accomplish. Most people things about spiritual things and believe in an afterlife of some sort or another; yet they will still perish in their sins not knowing the true God and the salvation that is wrought in the Son the Savior. Many say that Christianity is not esoteric; but in a sense it is very esoteric because one has to be born again to inherit the enlightenment of the scriptures and understand their verity. Yet Christianity is open and welcoming to “whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord”.
Have you ever pondered the significance of the spiritual mind in comparison to the carnal mind; they are in opposition one to the other and one cannot live successfully in both being doubleminded. The carnal mind is the antithesis of God and truth. The carnal mind is a compromising mind that lives through situational ethics; it is tolerant of the lust of the flesh and opposes the discipline of the spiritual truths that are starkly established to their detriment. The scripture exposes the nakedness of the doubleminded person; it declares they’re unstable in every facet of life. The scriptures without dispute declare the compromised state of dual minded people is the inability to resist the temptation of innate desires that oppose godliness. That a person is drawn away from godliness through lust and when that lust is conceived is gives carnal birth to sin and when that sin has accomplished its mission; death is its reward. Sin separates when a doubleminded person tolerates it. Entertaining the lust of the flesh through the lust of the eyes is the attribute of the compromised mind which is giving in to carnal habitation.
Scriptural study coupled with spiritual meditation produces spiritual awareness and discernment. One must engage mental employment of finding the spiritual truths that stabilize our spiritual fortitude. One cannot afford the luxury of emptiness of mind which is an open field for seeds of self-destruction. The enemy of our minds goes about as a vicious beast seeking an opportunity to devour the children of God. How do we resist him? The answer: steadfast in the truth! The illustration of quenching the fiery darts of the wicked with a shield of faith is an expression of holding truth firmly in front of us. How can one know truth unless they’ve been reborn! How can one who has been reborn walk in victory unless they are studying the word and rightly dividing it? I will address the consciousness of the mind and its significance in our daily lives. If one is conscious of God in the right perspective; that person should develop spiritually considering that one’s actions bring the rewards of spiritual wisdom and understanding. The priority of daily fellowship with God through praise, prayer, and scripture perpending; results in an acute awareness of those deceptive ploys of the flesh and demonic realm that assault us daily.
We cannot afford to read indiscreetly without employing the conscious of the spirit. The result will be the emptiness of the uninformed spirit-man. The weapons at our disposal are spiritual and mighty through God. The carnal man cannot engage successfully in spiritual warfare; he can only be fortified by the Spirit. The spiritual mind compares spiritual things with spiritual things. It is not lethargic concerning things which pertain to the spiritual realm which is where our strength comes from. The energy of the Spirit is innate to pursue the depths of spiritual understanding. One cannot afford to rely upon human reason to reason out righteousness. The Spirit supplies the understanding as one engages the scriptures and their application to corporeal life.
Jesus declared “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”. (John 6:63 KJV)
We see plainly the Spirit gives life and the flesh gives nothing or adds nothing to our spiritual man; but the words of God are in and of themselves “Spirit” and they in and of themselves produce “Life”. What shall we do then with such great knowledge? Shall we take it with a grain of salt or will we embrace it with wholeness of heart, mind, body, soul, and strength?
Brethren, I’ve address you as mature and not as children! I’ve spoken of the glories of wisdom and understanding! I’ve sought to edify you with exhortation and provoke your spiritual minds to the present issues of biblical spiritual awareness. May I remind you to stir up those gifts that God has engrafted by the laying on of his Spirit? Would you search you heart? Would you yield it anew and be awakened and refreshed and renewed in the spirit of your mind? Brethren I exhort you by the mercies of God to walk in wisdom for the days are evils and the enemies are many! I exhort you to examine yourselves whether you are walking in the faith which was delivered to the early church and are you contending for it to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ our Lord?
I pray the God of goodness bestow upon you all the graces of heaven and equips you completely for the tasks that are set before you this day and every day! Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
