WISDOM THE PRINCIPLE THING
We should look to the wisdom of our spiritual predecessors: their faults and failures formed their faith based upon their coming into a fuller understanding of the scriptures. There are many bible scholars who’ve preceded us in their studies and experiences which resulted in a multitude of divine knowledge which can be passed down to us. I love the supernatural aspect of the word and the wonders I’ve seen over the years. But I’ve been avid in bible studies and the information has caused me to love the word of God and the God of the word more and more as years go by. In my life I’ve had the fortune to know some true men and women of God whom I gleaned wisdom through my encounter and intimate spiritual relationship. Some of them are still among us and I so love to fellowship with them and watch them live the life of Christ before my eyes.
One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. (Proverbs 13:20)
Good company naturally instills and propagates righteous principles, spiritual maxims, and sincere spiritual improvements. I love to study their writings and cultivate a personal friendship with them. I study many godly people; many of them don’t know how much I appreciate their example of leadership and godly character and integrity. Yet I honor them by emanating them as they imitate Christ in their lives. I enjoy their wise counsel, their faithfulness to God, and their heart for truth. I sense the love of Jesus that radiates through them. O the treasures of wisdom
(5) Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
(6) Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
(7) Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
(8) Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
(9) She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
(10) Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
I see the honor, grace, and glory of God upon those I see as spiritual mentors. They allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide them in all their ways. They persevere through life because they’ve embrace the wisdom of the “Ancient of Days”
They read and understand because they pray for it before they read for it. They have spiritual insight and divine knowledge because they see and hear by the Spirit.
God places people in our lives for the good of our lives; let us hear and heed them when they reach out to give counsel and let us entreat them with love as for a father or mother. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
