Hey everyone, my name is Rolanda. I am Christian through and through which I have been since I was really little. My husband just started going to church with my mother and I since we got married. I haven't gone to church in awhile because my husband has floor hockey training on Sunday mornings so he can't go with me at the moment and there is this elderly that I have known for years that constantly bothers me now about my husband is or wanting to talk to me during the church service. She also talks to low for me to hear so when I don't answer her she starts to poke me to my attention and it's getting very annoying. I told the new lady pastor that I wasn't going back until my husband could go with me because if the elderly lady keeps up especially with the poking because I can't stand people poking me. My mother, my husband, the new lady pastor and I all agree that this elderly lady has either Alzheimer's or Dementia because she doesn't seem to remember what people say to her.

It's really great to have you here Rolanda. Not sure I would like to be poked either - What we can do for these people is pray for them, especially this elderly lady. (I will pray too for her). I hope that you can feel at home here and to be encouraged and lifted by the many post on 'Friends of Jesus'and also to share any thing that you feel led to bring here.
God bless Les

Welcome ChristianChick83. I can only imagine how annoying that must be to have someone constantly poking at you.
I promise - I won't poke you here on the forum. Honest. I won't.
Anyway, welcome. Jump in when you can.

I still haven't gone back to church even though my husband can now go with me because he is usually tried on Sundays and there's no church now anyway because of the Covid-19 thing where I live but I am still praying for God to fix everything so it can back to normal.

So good to see you here again Rolanda - Yep I think all churches are now closed due to this virus. We are running the usual sermons in the video section and covering Robert Jeffress, Max Lucado and John MacArthur to give everyone something during this time. God bless you and keep trusting our Lord.....

Our church is doing the video preaching as well. I was really surprised that our pastor adapted this new format like a duck to water. He really is very good at it. I guess one of the main differences is that I can put him on hold if the phone rings. Of course, I would never tell him that.

The other secret that your pastor will never know is how much you probably nod off during his sermons.....lol I feel though, many churches should continue with this when all this virus problem passes. Apparently, many people are using this as a way of being fed with the word of God (Especially those who normally can't get to a church). There are no excuse now to reach out with God's word....

Not going to happen with our pastor Les. Although he is still a fairly young pup ( 29 or so ), about 99.9999% of us look at him as a real keeper.
