From the Pastor's desk....
Good morning!Bless the LORD,oh my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name!
Continuing from yesterday, with our study of the Jehovah's Witnesses,we will show from their own writings, the false predictions that the WT (Watchtower) has made during the course of it's existence.
In the 1911 edition to the 1888 book entitled "The Time Is At Hand",a prophecy was issued concerning Armageddon,P.101 says,Quote:"Be not surprised, then, when in subsequent chapters we present proofs that the setting up of the Kingdom of God,is already begun, that it is pointed out in prophecy as due to begin the exercise of power in A.D. 1878,and that the 'Battle of the great day of God Almighty' (Rev.16:14),which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership,is already commenced. The gathering of the armies is plainly visible from the standpoint of God's word." End Quote.
The obvious question will be;"Did anyone notice Armageddon in 1914?" The obvious answer will be; No! Armageddon did not take place.
As stated, the WT has spoken out against false prophets. However the following statements from the Awake! Magazine,Oct.8,1968,condemn the WT itself as a false prophet,Quote:"True, there have been those in time past who have predicted an 'end to the world,'even announcing a specific date....The 'end' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why?What was missing?......Missing from such people were God's truths and the evidence that he was guiding and using them." End Quote.
If it were not so sad, it would almost be funny. But it's not.The fact that we are living in a time when there are people and organizations out there that are bombarding us with all types of false doctrine and prophecies,is a clear indication of the nearness of the Lord's return.Jesus said there would be many who say things like this,in order to draw away disciples to themselves. The warning should be crystal clear to everyone:it is impossible to get clear direction and good doctrine from a false prophet!
The WT Society claims to speak for God.They say in the Watchtower January 15,1959 issue,Quote:"Whom has God actually used as his prophet?.....Jehovah's witnesses are deeply grateful today that the plain facts show that God has been pleased to use them." End Quote. This is a direct statement claiming themselves to not only be a prophet, but also saying that God is using them,to propagate false doctrine. As I've stated before,God will not lend Himself to lies, false doctrine or false prophecies,or sin at any time in any way.
Tomorrow,we will explore even more false date setting for Armageddon in the 1920's by the second president of the organization known as Joseph "Judge" Rutherford.Until tomorrow,be safe,be happy but most of all,be blessed in the Lord Jesus Christ.........love in Christ.......John.
