LET’S TALK ABOUT ROUTINES
Routines are powerful when it comes to Righteousness; the sporadic spiritual lifestyle doesn’t produce the fruits of stability and only tends to a more casual irresponsible lifestyle. Committing to a routine of devotion to God yields the fruits of a righteous lifestyle that is not easily overtaken by the subterfuge of the devil. A commitment to praying in earnest for the purpose a real relationship with the Heavenly Father avails much to our benefit.
It is truly my desire to touch lives in the world of sin and in the body of Christ! That objective is God commissioned and my heart is purposed to obey God’s will for my life. I want to see sinners saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Spirit and I want to see the saints of God grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. I was called by God not by man; I didn’t ask for this calling; I just wanted to be saved and go to heaven. Then I heard the voice of God calling me into this ministry which is starting its thirty fourth year. I remember the vision of God when I seen the nail scared feet of Jesus as I was praying one night and he spoke to me “I have called you to be an apostle (sent one) and I am sending you to the nations”. God truly has sent me to several nations and I’ve seen many souls come to Jesus through this ministry of which I am only a steward.
Yet in my heart there burns the desire to do more than ever before for God and the Kingdom of Heaven. The days we live in are a sure sign of the fulfillment of prophecies concerning the last days and the soon appearance of Jesus in the clouds descending with the archangel sounding his arrival with a trumpet blast! It is no time to be nonchalant about the call and commission of God; let us work while we have the time to work; behold the time is coming when we cannot work! As Wendy and me prayed this morning; I ask God to rid us of anything which would hinder us from being a candle sat upon a lampstand or a majestic city sat upon a hill or to be the light that shines in the darkness.
Brethren; casual Christianity will not avail to our benefit or to the benefit of others. Jesus said “where your treasure is; there your heart is also”. What’s your treasure? I know that my treasure is to have pleasure in my relationship with God first and foremost. I pray that you would also desire to have daily communion with the Father. When that begins to happen and you commune with him in honesty and earnestness you will find yourself growing spiritually and become more sensitive to the Spirit and more desensitized to the world. “Draw nigh unto to God and He will draw nigh unto you”.
I charge you therefore to pursue God and his righteousness! As Paul gave to the Romans I give unto you!
(1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
(2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2 KJV
Another practical routine is the routine of assembly. The regular practice of communal fellowship in the church is vital to staying connected, influenced, and influential. Fellowship strengthens us because of not only the corporate worship; but the personal encouragement and loving interventions which are part and parcel of being a member of a congregation.
(24) Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,
(25) not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25
Remember every commission has a condition! We cannot afford to take our position lightly; there are consequences to our actions. We will either grow or stay immature concerning our faith and the call and commission to be witnesses of this good news of salvation, healing, and deliverance in Christ. Your love for God doesn’t grow without participation and your call won’t advance without whole hearted commitment. Brethren; keep the faith and the faith will keep you! Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
