DON’T LET YOUR HURT, HURT OTHERS AND RUIN YOUR TESTIMONY
Quicksand is effective because it looks like everything around it until you step out to far. When out and about some places look innocent enough but once you step pass the safety zone you’ll get pulled down to death. In life there are some places we need to heed before we go carelessly walking into them. They are snares for your feet and death for your soul; don’t deny that still small edging you not to go. Self-will has been the end many a good Christian; good intentions are not necessarily the will of God. Those that are truly led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. To stay out of spiritual quicksand we must not do anything contrary to God’s word. We must surrender our will to the will of God. We must also continue in our biblical education by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth.
Ask yourself; how does my action affect my testimony of God in my life. Let us remember God is a revealer but he is also a concealer when it comes to his perfect will for our lives. To the obedient he is the revealer to the self-willed he is the concealer. The world is camouflaged with quicksand and quagmire to entrap those who are in the world; Christians who become self-willed can also be ensnared if they’re not walking in the Spirit. We all face the cunning of an enemy that is going about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He is a formable foe who has no mercy and one who plots our demise or plans how to ruin our testimony. He knows we are emotional creatures who can be easily influenced when our spiritual guard is down. If you are an individual who is particularly effective as a witness and have a testimony of earnestness and honesty; you are a target that he wishes to destroy.
The words and actions of our lives reveal to others what our heart’s desires truly are. There are many who say things but their lives never back their words. In fact their actions are contrary to the words they speak and then there are those who actions alone speak the volume of their heart. As Christians both words and deeds are supposed to walk hand in hand.
The word of God teaches us concerning the end times that the love of many would grow cold because iniquity would abound. Then it tells us but those who endure unto the end the same shall be saved. What I want to address is that today more than ever it is important to stay in the Spirit! What does staying in the Spirit mean? It means that our lives should reflect Christ in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. These dynamics reflect the person of Christ and if we are abiding in him our character should reflect him. Christians walk in truth because Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life of those who know him in Spirit and in Truth. In the Holy Scriptures we are given several lists of the works of the flesh which we are emphatically told that those who practice them “will not inherit the kingdom of God”.
The drawing power of the old carnal man united with the demonic power of persuasion are designed to lure us back into the grips of those works of the flesh and finally destroy our testimony of God and thereby making a mockery of him in the process. Many sins do not look like sin; just like the forbidden fruit in the garden it takes on an appealing appearance and causes a lust that is not immediately apparent. In this fashion is a quicksand that once you partake of it; it has a destination of demise and destruction. Brethren, look around you and what do you see? You see the demoralizing of humanity and that life is cheap in the eyes and actions of many around us. You see those bent on destruction and mayhem that are ready to hurt and kill! You see iniquity abounding and it is affecting your love and compassion and is arousing the hate that was prominent in the old man. You’re seeing the world you loved and the life you lived being systematically destroyed and it is affecting your spirituality. The quicksand of anger that is not righteous indignation has taken root and causing you to come to a boiling point of eruption and manifest rage. Brethren now more than ever we need to come together in prayer; we need to pray in faith believing for the days are evil! We must walk circumspectly as wise redeeming the time.
It is time for revival not reversal. We can’t afford to lose our souls because we have lost faith in our God and our prayers we pray to him. He will bring about the change needed for the times and seasons are in his hands! If he has promised you something; it shall surely come to pass if you remain loyal and obedient. Don’t let your hurt, hurt others, and control it because it can in fact get out of control. Don’t let your anger side step you from the blessing you have coming to you. Don’t allow the confusion of the times to infect or deflect you; you are a child of God and all of heaven backs you. Stay the course! Stay the course and it shall surely come to pass! Selah
