God bless America! Good morning friends and family, may the Lord bless you and keep you all of your days.
"And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication;then they will look on Me whom they have pierced.Yes,they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son,and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn."....Zechariah 12:10.
"And one will say to Him,'What are these wounds between your arms?' Then He will answer,'Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.' ".....Zechariah 13:6.
"But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out."....."For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled,'Not one of His bones shall be broken.'...'And again another Scripture says,"They shall look on Him whom they pierced." '.....John 19:34,36-37.
"Behold He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him,even they who pierced Him.And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.Even so,Amen.".....Revelation 1:7.
Lest we miss the importance of what Zechariah of the O.T. and John the Beloved Apostle of Jesus Christ had to say,let us briefly look at it again.Zechariah's prophecy was of the suffering and death of the coming Messiah,Jesus Christ. John's was of the actual crucifixion day, stating that at least two distinct Scriptures were fulfilled in Christ as He hung between heaven and earth.Lest our friends in the Watchtower Organization miss the importance of this event, allow me to bring some illumination to these verses.
Zechariah was definitely a true prophet of the LORD,Jehovah God.Jehovah was directly speaking through him when he recorded this prophecy. In the beginning of chapter 12 of Zechariah,it is stated clearly that Jehovah is speaking (vs.1).He continues speaking all through this chapter and into the next.In verse 10,Jehovah still speaking,He says,"they will look on ME whom they have pierced." Jehovah God speaking, says they will look on Me (Himself) who was pierced. The apostle John says this Scripture was fulfilled in Christ as the soldier pierced His side with the spear. In Revelation we have the apostle once again recording that when He (Jesus) returns, that they will look on Him,whom they have pierced. It seems very clear to me,at least, that the LORD God,Jehovah,of the Old Testament,is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ in the New Testament. Not an angel named Micheal, but the LORD Himself.
John1:1,14;I Tim.3:16,clearly states that God,not a god,one of lesser importance, became a man in the flesh of Jesus Christ. How anyone can miss the importance of this event in human history,is beyond my ability to understand, but they do.People still do not want to accept the fact that Jesus Christ came from the Father and He went back to the Father.Everything that the Father is,the Son is.And everything the Son is,the Father is. As a man,Jesus never lost the possession of Deity, but for the purpose of the incarnation,He laid aside the expression of Deity. He clothed His glory, the glory as of the ONLY Begotten of the Father,in human flesh. On the Mount of the Transfiguration His glory broke through and the Apostles could not look directly at Him for the brightness of it.
Let us rejoice and be glad that the King of Glory,Jesus Christ left the portals of heaven, and humbled Himself and became a man that we can be saved and abide in His presence.Hallelujah, praise His name forever.....Til next time,God bless.J.W.
