Good morning to all,and may the blessing of the Lord be yours today and always!
The Blessedness of a Man
Part III
Psalm I
3a.) "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,...."
When I read this part of the Psalm it takes my mind to the mighty Cedars of Lebanon. They are some of the oldest, strongest and longest lasting trees known to man.It is estimated that there are some as old as 3,000-4,0000 years.I'm not a tree expert in any way,but in my estimation, that's really old.I do know, though,a tree is only as good as it's root system! If the roots run shallow they don't last long, but if the roots run deep, where the really good nutrients are, then the tree will flourish, most especially where there is plenty of water. And this is the analogy I believe the Lord would have us to understand.Just as any foundation of a house must be able to hold the weight of the house to be built,so too, must the roots be able to bear the weight of the tree.If we allow our roots to grow deeper and deeper in the Lord Jesus Christ,we shall be like those Cedars of Lebanon. We will stand the test of time.Jesus gave us the story of Himself as the True Vine and us as the branches in John 15:1-8,if we abide in His word and His word abides in us,we will grow to produce much fruit for His glory. We will be strong Christians with a strong testimony, that will bear the fruit He desires.
3b.)"....that brings forth his fruit in his season;....." Our fruit bearing days for the Lord Jesus Christ are just ahead of us,but we must be ready for the harvest that is coming.I believe that as the days draw closer to the Lord's return, many more will depart from the faith. It is clear the Apostacy spoken of is upon us.But I also believe that, as there will be those who depart from the faith, there will also be those who will come to faith in Christ.God promised in the last days that He would once again pour out His Spirit upon all flesh. Many in the modern Church will not even recognize it as a move of God.By and large it will be rejected as fanaticism, but those being saved will know what it is.The Holy Spirit has vacated many of the mainline denominations because they have rejected Him in favor of the feel good gospel that never offends anyone, and tickles everyone's ears. The leadership of the feel good gospel churches, have been rejected by God.Those considered by the religious crowd,to be the unworthy's and dregs of the earth will enter the Kingdom before they will.Let us go forth and reach the lost at any cost,by telling them the truth in love, even if they don't like us for it!
Tomorrow,we will continue with the 3rd.verse.I pray that God will open your eyes, hearts and minds to what He is wanting to do in these last of the last days, until then may God richly bless you is my prayer........Love in Christ,John.
